I do not define myself
by how many roadblocks appeared in my path;
but by the courage I have found to forge new roads.
I do not define myself
by how many disappointments I have faced;
but by the forgiveness and faith I have found to begin again.
I do not define myself
by how long a relationship last;
but by how I have loved and have been willing to love again.
I do not define myself
by how many times I have been knocked down;
but by how many times I have struggled to my feet.
I do not define myself
by how many times I have appeared like a fool;
but by the number of risks I have taken.
I do not define myself
by the number of mistakes I have made;
but by the knowledge I have learned from trying new ways.
I am not my pain... I am not my past.
I am that which I have emerged.
A poem that I very much relate to, shared by Ali Yan from Xcite.

Hi,
This is a little random and I'm sorry, but a few years ago you posted the lyrics to a song rom a cartoon film, "sing a simple song" in your blog and i was wondering if you could possibly remember what film it was from? I can remember it from my childhood and would love to find it again.
Thanks,
Hannah.x.
Hi Hannah,
Yes I remember the song
but I don't remember the title of the movie ... not right now.
I'll look it up for you.
