Balik ke Lumpur !!!

Used to joke with my kids, "Balik ke lumpur!!!"
Holiday ... going back to KL, Kuala Lumpur or Kuala Berlumpur as it was called in history.
My personal nostalgic memories of the KL I knew were those times I played at the tin mining pools where my father used to fish. He used to take me with him for some reason, though often he would have to abandon fishing to look for me. HeHeHe.......
"Mana pulak hilangnya budak ni....??"
I remembered he would always remind me of the quicksand. "Jangan pergi jauh-jauh kat situ ada pasir jerlus......."
Now the pools no longer exist. In their places are the housing areas ... one after another
macam cendawan tumbuh. And yet , never enuff ........ more and more houses being built,
no more beautiful landscapes that we used to admire...just the few trees growing here & there
choking on Carbon monoxide... Uhuk! Uhuk!Uhuk!

And what happened to that small stream/anak sungai that used to flow behind the teachers' quarters where I used to live ???
The KL I see today is not the KL I used to know
